Decision regarding Moldova’s accession to the GPA was adopted by GPA Parties PRINT E-mail

flag_Moldova[16/10/2015] On sidelines of the WTO GPA Workshop and GPA Symposium 15-18 September 2015 the EBRD experts Dorina Harcenco, Karen Brutyan met with Simion Botnari, Deputy Minister of Finance of Moldova; Viorel Mosneaga, Director of PPA of Moldova; Dumitru Pintea, Counsellor, Ministry of Economy of Moldova; Marian Bunescu, economic counsellor, Moldova’s mission to Geneva and Marian Lemke, Senior Adviser at OECD/Sigma and Anna Muller, WTO.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss Moldova’s accession to the WTO GPA and OECD/SIGMA’s comments on the newly adopted law on PPL and its compliance with the RM-EU Association Agreement in the light of Moldova’s accession to WTO GPA. At the meeting the parties discussed the formal procedures related to Moldova’s accession to GPA. It was mentioned that WTO Secretariat didn’t receive any objections from GPA Parties, meaning that on the Government Procurement Meeting on 16 September all GPA Parties will vote for Moldova’s accession to GPA.

On 16 September at the GP Committee meeting the decision on Moldova’s accession to GPA was voted. The Government of the Republic of Moldova is to deposit the instrument of accession to GPA in maximum six months, by 16 April 2016.
