The working group at the meeting in Paris on 4 December 2015

[04/12/2015] Following the launch of the Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS) revision process last June, the working group has met again in Paris in the first week of December 2015 to discuss and approve, under the auspices of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the revised structure of the new MAPS.

Multilateral development banks (including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, the Council of Europe Development Bank and the European Investment Bank), bilateral donors and government representatives from several countries took part in two days meetings, reaching a milestone agreement on the way forward.

The MAPS revision process should last until the second quarter of 2016, the piloting phase should be completed by late 2016 and the official launching is foreseen by early 2017.

As soon as the new MAPS benchmark is finalised, the EBRD will pilot the new methodology in the next EBRD regional assessment. The results of the pilot are expected to be available to be presented at the EBRD Annual Meeting in 2017.
