As a lawyer, Eriks has extensive experience in the area of public procurement. Within Latvia’s central public procurement body, he dealt with the transition of EU procurement directives into national law and the review of tenderers´ complaints on procurement procedures. He is a partner in the law firm “Public and Private Law Consulting”, in charge of public procurement and PPP projects. Eriks has consulted for major procurement and PPP projects in different sectors such as infrastructure, IT and healthcare. He is a permanent lecturer and chairman of seminars at the European Academy for Taxes, Economics and Law in Berlin, Germany, and also member of the European Commission’s Public Procurement Stakeholders Expert Group.
